Ang “Tabi po” ay kinatatampukan ng mga tauhang tiyak na iyong kagigiliwan - mga aswang, maligno, lamang-lupa at iba pang kagiliw-giliw na mga nilalang. Subalit ang kuwentong ito ay naglalaman din ng mga eksenang may matitinding karahasan at mga paksang hindi para sa mahihinang loob. Kung ang mga ito ay hindi angkop sa iyong panlasa, mangyari lamang na isarado mo ito ngayon din at matulog ka na lang nang mahimbing at mag-enjoy sa iyong panaginip.

Ganda ganda ng art! Im very interested in seeing a proper take on aswang. Im so happy na properly gory at gothic ang dating ng art mo, tapos talagang malaki ang potential nun concept. great work!

Mervin Malonzo's work reminds me of those old tabloid horror komiks and the House of Mystery before it was Gaiman-ized (hmmm and some Tales From the Crypt eps)

 Gusto ni Mervin Malonzo na yumaman at sumikat ngunit ayaw sa kanya ng mga ito. Kaya pinili na lang n'yang magpakahirap kaya nya nagawa ang komiks na ito nang libreng-libre! Hinde... Pangarap ni Mervin gumawa ng komiks kaya nag-resign sya sa trabaho at nag-concentrate sya dito. Pero dahil kailangan pa din nya kumain, freelance designer s'ya ngayon kasama ang kanyang malalapit na kaibigan. Mabuti hanggang ngayon buhay pa din sila. Takot s'ya sa kulog at kidlat, mahilig s'ya sa pusa at may kasintahan s’yang prinsesa. Kung interesado ka pa kay Mervin, aba’y punta ka na dito. |

LAKTAW BLG: 005
I bet you are aware of our successful anthology project last year: The Quarterly Bathroom Companion Comics Compendium. We are now putting together the stories for the next installment. The image above is part of my story. Now, if you read my entry in volume 1, you’ll notice that some elements there can also be seen here. I love to have that visual connection between my komiks because it makes me feel that I am creating my own universe!
According to editors Josel Nicolas and DJ Legaspi (who just got married by the way), there’s going to be four cover designs as you can see above. It’s made by JP Cuison, Manix Abrera and Laraine Gazmen respectively. The fourth cover is not yet released. You can follow The QBCCC on tumblr here theqbccc.tumblr.com for updates! So as you can see, I’ll be a bit busy doing these things for the next few weeks. Aside from that, I still do work for our own design studio (Pepe & the Polygons) because I do need to earn money.
